In 1999 Melissa found her passion, buying and selling interesting objects. “The history and nostalgia in vintage and antiques became like a drug to me, I needed more. I worked my way through many categories of collecting, China, glassware, art pottery, jewelry, clothing and now antique and vintage decorative objects and art.” says Sands.

Melissa believes that vintage has 3 things today’s retail market doesn’t. ” It’s less expensive, higher quality and holds value.”
Gatherings buyers and sellers together has been the focus but she will stop anything for a good flea market and Brimfield, Mass is her favorite. “There is nothing else like it” says Sands. Brimfield brings it all together, rain or shine. Dealers, customers, decorators, collectors. It’s the most exciting place on earth as far as I’m concerned.” She can get just as excited by estate sales and yard sales. “If you aren’t looking everywhere, you may not find it.” Melissa said.
